Here’s the gist of what was taught in the video:

Nutrition: Building a Strong Foundation

Your daily food choices can either fuel health or create disease. Most people follow the Standard American Diet — high in processed carbs, damaged fats, and chemical additives — which contributes to inflammation, hormone imbalance, and chronic illness.

Foods to Avoid

  • Processed carbohydrates and sugars (including artificial sweeteners)

  • Damaged fats: hydrogenated oils, seed oils (corn, soy, canola, cottonseed)

  • Artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives

  • GMO foods, herbicides, and pesticides

  • Low-fat, “diet,” or “sugar-free” processed foods

Healthy Foods to Include

  • Healthy fats: extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut products, raw nuts and seeds

  • Organic, grass-fed, and pasture-raised meats and dairy

  • Wild-caught fish like Pacific salmon

  • Organic, local, seasonal fruits and vegetables

  • Sprouted or ancient whole grains (core plan only)

Two Nutrition Plans

  • Core Plan: A balanced, long-term plan for maintaining health and weight.

  • Advanced Plan: A healing plan for inflammation, hormone imbalance, or significant weight loss — eliminates grains and reduces sugar for 30-90 days or more.

Supplementation plays a key role due to nutrient depletion in modern foods. Dr. Smith recommends pure, practitioner-grade supplements to support digestion, reduce inflammation, and improve cellular health.

Fasting: Harnessing Your Body’s Natural Healing

Fasting allows your body to rest from constant digestion, triggering repair processes like autophagy — the recycling of damaged cells. Benefits include better energy, metabolism, immune function, and longevity.

Common Fasting Methods

  • Intermittent Fasting (12:12 or 16:8): Eating within a set window each day.

  • 24-Hour Fast: Dinner-to-dinner or lunch-to-lunch once or twice a week.

  • 3-Day Fast: Deep immune, metabolic, and cellular repair — done only occasionally.

Tips for Successful Fasting

  • Stay hydrated with water, herbal tea, and electrolytes.

  • Plan fasting days around lower-stress schedules.

  • Break fasts gently with nourishing foods like bone broth or smoothies.

Fasting for Women
Women’s hormone cycles impact how fasting should be approached:

  • Follicular Phase (Days 1-10): Longer fasts (16-24 hours) work well.

  • Ovulation Phase: Keep fasts to 13-15 hours.

  • Luteal Phase: Shorten fasting windows; add more healthy carbs.

  • Menstrual Phase: Avoid fasting; focus on rest and nutrient-rich foods.

Post-menopausal women have more flexibility but should cycle fasting days with “feast” days to avoid nutrient depletion.

Chiropractic: The Missing Link in Health

Even with excellent nutrition and fasting habits, your body’s ability to heal depends on clear communication between your brain and body. That’s the role of your nervous system — and it’s regulated by your spine.

Why Chiropractic Matters

  • Corrective chiropractic care addresses 100% of body function, not just pain symptoms.

  • Subluxations (spinal misalignments) interfere with nerve signals, leading to dysfunction in muscles, organs, and overall health.

  • Regular chiropractic care reduces hospital visits, surgeries, and medication use while improving quality of life.

Only chiropractors are trained to detect and correct subluxations, making this an essential part of a long-term health plan.

Invest in Your Health for a Better Future

Your body is designed to be healthy, and with the right tools, you can restore its natural function. By removing harmful foods, adopting fasting routines that work for your body, and keeping your nervous system free from interference, you can enjoy more energy, stronger immunity, and a better quality of life for years to come.
